Polish prosecutors announced the detention of two Ukrainian citizens, Oleksandr S. and Sofia Ch., and three Belarusians, Viktoria M., Anton M., and Uladzimir U., on charges of espionage for foreign intelligence services. They were arrested between November 25-26, suspected of photographing and transmitting images of critical infrastructure in Poland, with their activities taking place between March 2024 and February 2025.

Prosecutors stated that the suspects were paid in cryptocurrency for these tasks. Three of them have been placed in pre-trial detention for three months, while the minor has been sent to a detention center. The investigation focuses on espionage activities conducted in cities such as Rzeszow, Warsaw, and Lodz. Poland accuses Russia of attempts to destabilize countries supporting Ukraine, as part of a "hybrid war," accusations that Moscow denies.
