Pfizer has announced a revision of its profit forecast for 2025, now expecting an adjusted profit between $3 and $3.15 per share, compared to the previous estimate of $2.90–$3.10, due to solid performance and cost reductions. Quarterly revenues were $16.65 billion, slightly above estimates, but 6% lower than the previous year, influenced by decreased demand for the Comirnaty vaccine and the Paxlovid treatment. Net profit was $3.54 billion, impacted by a one-time tax of $1.35 billion. Pfizer maintains its total revenue estimate for 2025 between $61 and $64 billion and plans to cut costs by $7.7 billion by 2027. The company benefits from an agreement with the Trump administration to reduce drug prices in the U.S. in exchange for tariff exemptions. Pfizer is diversifying its portfolio through acquisitions in oncology and continues to develop drugs, despite declining sales of Covid products. Pfizer's shares have dropped by 7% since the beginning of the year.
