European Union authorities are investigating online retailer Temu for failing to prevent the listing of illegal products, according to preliminary findings by the European Commission. The investigation, part of the Digital Services Act, found that European users are at risk of buying non-compliant products such as toys and electronics. Temu said it would cooperate with the authorities, but the analysis found that the platform uses inadequate risk assessments. The Commission pointed out that Temu does not meet the necessary standards for consumer safety.
