Oman's Foreign Minister, Badr Albusaidi, accuses Israel of convincing the Trump administration to declare war on Iran, considering it a "catastrophe".

Badr Albusaidi, the foreign minister of Oman, stated that Israel influenced the Donald Trump administration to initiate a war against Iran, which he called a "grave miscalculation" and a "catastrophe." In an article published in the Economist, Albusaidi emphasized that, despite significant progress in nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US, military attacks by Israel and America occurred immediately after substantial discussions. Oman has been active in efforts to prevent an American attack on Iran, alongside other Gulf states.

Albusaidi accused the Israeli leadership of convincing the US that the Iranian regime would capitulate after the assassination of its supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. He stressed that America's involvement in this conflict is unjustified and that there is no favorable solution for both parties. He also called for a return to bilateral negotiations, warning that a prolonged war would require the deployment of American troops, contrary to Trump's promises. Oman has openly criticized the US for its actions, deeming them illegal and in contradiction with international law.
