Rising temperatures and climate change have led to a less predictable olive harvest in Greece, causing an increase in theft. Farmers, faced with fire risks and reduced harvests, are becoming increasingly vulnerable. From large-scale thefts, such as 37 tons of olive oil, to thieves stealing from personal stockpiles, the situation is becoming alarming. Olive oil accounts for 25% of Greek agriculture, but its future is uncertain because of these challenges.
