On Friday, oil prices recorded an increase of approximately 3%, with traders anticipating possible supply disruptions due to prolonged nuclear discussions between the United States and Iran. Futures contracts for Brent crude rose by $2.09, reaching $72.84 per barrel, while those for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) advanced by $2.33, hitting $67.54. Analyst Tamas Varga highlighted that the uncertainty in the market, fueled by fears of a potential stalemate in negotiations or military actions, contributes to rising prices.
Additionally, premiums for geopolitical risks are estimated at $8–10 per barrel, especially due to the possible blockage of the Strait of Hormuz. In this context, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi intends to increase oil exports, and Saudi Arabia may adjust prices for deliveries to Asia. OPEC+ may discuss an increase in production by 137,000 barrels per day for the month of April.
