Norway has announced the purchase of frigates from Great Britain, valued at 13.5 billion dollars, as part of the largest military investment in its history. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre emphasized the importance of these ships for the defense of sovereignty, having an essential role in monitoring Russian submarines. The agreement provides for a joint fleet of 13 frigates, including 8 British and 5 Norwegian, and will support 4,000 jobs in Great Britain. This decision comes against the backdrop of an increase in the Norwegian military budget, in the context of tensions in Europe.
