On the 31st anniversary of the death of Kim Ir Sen, the founder of North Korea, the official media urged people to reaffirm their loyalty to Kim Jong Un. The Rodong Sinmun newspaper emphasized the importance of revolutionary ideology and the struggle for socialist prosperity. Commemoration ceremonies included flag hoisting and visits to the mausoleum. Kim Jong Un paid tribute to his grandfather, marking a strategy to strengthen his own authority.
