In a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, Nicușor Dan underlined Romania's support for US President Donald Trump's efforts to find a solution to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, insisting that peace must be negotiated with Ukraine at the table. Dan accepted the invitation to visit Ukraine in the autumn and reaffirmed Romania's commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing the link between Ukraine's security and the stability of the Black Sea region.
