The New Mexico Department of Justice has launched an investigation after documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice revealed allegations that Jeffrey Epstein ordered the burial of the bodies of two foreign girls near his Zorro Ranch farm.

Spokeswoman Lauren Rodriguez requested a copy of an email from 2019 that contains these allegations. The email, sent by a supposed former employee of the farm, claimed that the two girls died as a result of violent sexual acts and that they were buried in the hills surrounding the farm. Eddy Aragon, who received the email, immediately reported the information to the FBI.

Although the Department of Justice warned that some claims in the released documents may be false, officials in New Mexico continue to investigate allegations related to Epstein's activities. He died in 2019, and the circumstances of his death remain controversial.
