The Polish Minister of Defense calls on NATO to accelerate the strengthening of the protection of the eastern flank, following the incursion of drones into Romania.

Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Polish Minister of Defense, emphasized the need to accelerate NATO's efforts to strengthen the protection of the eastern flank against drone threats, following recent incidents in Romania. He made the statements after Romania launched fighter jets to respond to the incursion of drones into its airspace.

Kosiniak-Kamysz mentioned that the Eastern Sentry operation, which involves armed forces from eight countries, needs to be intensified and accelerated, stressing that a confirmation of the airspace violation is essential. The Romanian Air Force responded promptly, deploying two German Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base to monitor the situation.
