The dismissal of Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik follows a conviction by a Sarajevo appeals court for enacting laws prohibiting the implementation of international decisions. The election commission announced that under the law, a conviction of more than six months automatically leads to dismissal. Dodik challenges the decision as a "coup d'état" orchestrated by the European Union. His lawyer has announced his intention to appeal.
