Microsoft will lay off 3% of its global workforce, affecting thousands of the company's 228,000 employees. It is the largest round of layoffs since the elimination of 10,000 positions in 2023. The cuts aren't tied to individual performance, but are part of a reorganization plan aimed at adapting the company to a changing market. Although Microsoft posted better-than-expected financial results, CEO Satya Nadella emphasized the need for adjustments in sales strategy, particularly in the area of cloud services.
