Microsoft has announced a record investment of $17.5 billion in India, considered the company's largest investment in Asia, according to CEO Satya Nadella. This investment aims to support India's ambitions in the field of artificial intelligence and the development of necessary infrastructure. The announcement was made after a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence were discussed. Microsoft had previously planned a $3 billion investment in India, focused on AI and cloud infrastructure. India, the most populous country and the fifth largest economy, attracts the attention of technology corporations, with Google recently announcing a $15 billion investment for the development of a data center and an AI hub. However, India's intention to become a global technology center faces strict digital regulations, including proposals to monitor users' locations, which has raised concerns from human rights groups.
