Dmitri Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, has launched a controversial theory, stating that as the West spends more money to support Ukraine, the regime in Kiev will have an increasingly terrible end, and the territories will return to being part of Russia.
Medvedev called the Ukrainian leadership "bloodthirsty clowns" and criticized the waste of Western funds. He suggested that instead of building a prosperous Ukraine, the money has been wasted. Medvedev compared the situation in Ukraine to the U.S. intervention in Afghanistan, predicting that the fate of the regime in Kiev will be similar, with a possible return of Russian authority to the territories it considers ancestral.
