Thousands of people participated in protests in several cities across Germany, expressing their dissatisfaction with the federal government's energy policies.

Under the slogan 'Defend renewable energy!', a coalition of environmental organizations organized protests in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, and Cologne, totaling approximately 80,000 people. Protesters in Munich accused the Minister of Economy, Katherina Reiche, of undermining the transition to renewable energy by favoring fossil fuels. Environmental organizations highlighted the risks of fossil fuels in the context of current geopolitical crises, calling for a faster transition to solar and wind energy. Martin Geilhufe, president of BUND in Bavaria, criticized the measures proposed by Reiche, considering them an attack on the environment and climate.
