The American Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, will participate on Friday, in Los Angeles, at the opening match of the FIFA World Cup in the United States, between the teams of the USA and Paraguay, the State Department announced on Wednesday.
The delegation will also include the Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, and the Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin. The spokesperson for the State Department, Tommy Pigott, emphasized that this event marks an important moment for the Trump administration, highlighting American leadership and hospitality in the context of the country's 250th anniversary.
On the sidelines of the match, Rubio will have a bilateral meeting with Paraguayan President Santiago Peña.
