A 32-year-old man from New Zealand has been charged with theft after he allegedly swallowed a Fabergé pendant, valued at $20,000, in the Partridge Jewellers store in Auckland. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when store employees alerted the police, who quickly intervened and arrested the suspect. The pendant, inspired by the movie "James Bond Octopussy," is made of 18-karat yellow gold and decorated with diamonds and sapphires. The man has also been charged with stealing an iPad from the same store and other items from a residence. He is in custody and will appear in court on December 8. The police have not yet managed to recover the pendant.
