On Friday, November 14, a serious incident occurred at the Montparnasse train station in Paris, where a man was shot by police after he attempted to attack officers with a knife. Authorities evacuated the station and established a security zone. According to the Paris prosecutor's office, the man, known for domestic violence, pulled out a knife and threatened the officers, and a police officer fired a shot to stop him.
The man, 44 years old and originally from Wallis and Futuna, was wanted for threats against his wife and children. After the attack, he reportedly stabbed himself, and the police shot him twice, seriously injuring him in the legs. A nearby person was also slightly injured. Rail traffic was disrupted following this incident.
