A man was arrested in Texas after he intentionally drove his Tesla Cybertruck into a lake to test the 'wade mode' feature. The incident occurred at Grapevine Lake, where police were called to recover the abandoned vehicle. The driver stated that he entered the water to use 'Wade Mode', which allows crossing water at a maximum depth of 81.5 cm.

However, the vehicle became disabled and remained stuck in the water. Police charged him with driving a vehicle in a closed area and violations of aquatic safety equipment. Authorities emphasized that although the Cybertruck can enter shallow waters, this can create legal and safety issues. Tesla warns that it is the driver's responsibility to measure the water depth before entering and that damages caused by water intrusion are not covered by warranty.
