Maia Sandu summoned the Supreme Security Council after Moldovan authorities signaled that Russia, through the FSB, is preparing massive interference in the parliamentary elections. Sandu warned that thousands of citizens had been affected by microfinance loans from Russian banks, bringing them into debt without their knowledge. He also said Moscow plans to use cryptocurrencies to illegally finance political projects with 100 million euros. Identified threats include cyber attacks on critical infrastructure and anti-EU propaganda on social networks. Sandu underlined the major risks to national security.
