President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu announced on Saturday morning that five drones and missiles had violated the country's airspace over a period of approximately 15 minutes. According to her, the objects exploded near localities in the Căușeni, Ștefan Vodă, Anenii Noi, and Hâncești districts.
Maia Sandu condemned the Russian attacks on Ukraine and warned that the war directly affects the security and lives of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. She said that Russia can stop the conflict and called for support for Ukraine to defend the population and protect peace in the region.
The Ministry of Defense in Chișinău announced that several unmanned aircraft had been detected near the localities of Anenii Noi, Ștefan Vodă, Hâncești, Tudora, and Căușeni. The Air Operations Service continues to monitor the airspace in coordination with the authorities and external partners.
The police reported explosions outside built-up areas and the discovery of drone fragments. The authorities recommend that citizens not approach suspicious objects and call 112.
