Seven incidents involving violations of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova were recorded between October 10 and 16, amid Russian attacks on Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Defense in Chișinău, four of the cases occurred on Friday, in the Ștefan Vodă and Ocnița districts, as well as in the Transnistrian segment.
Six of the seven incidents involved aircraft intended for military use that entered the airspace of the Republic of Moldova without authorization. The overflights were reported in the area of Tudora, along the Otaci–Hădărăuți and Căplani–Olănești routes, as well as between Purcari and Dnestrovsc.
A day earlier, two other aircraft violated the airspace near Purcari, in Ștefan Vodă district, and Ivanovca, in the Transnistrian segment. The first incident in the period under review was recorded on October 10, when fragments of a drone containing explosives were discovered in Geamăna, Anenii Noi district.
The number of violations has reached 63 since the beginning of the year, 15 of which occurred in October. From 2022 to the present, Moldovan authorities have recorded 100 such incidents.
The Ministry of Defense warns that drones, missiles and their fragments may pose a danger to the public. Citizens are urged not to approach or touch suspicious objects, but to immediately notify the authorities by calling the emergency number 112.
