Emmanuel Macron has characterized Russia under Vladimir Putin as a "predator" and a "destabilizing power" that will not easily give up its territorial ambitions. In an interview, he emphasized that Putin has ignored international commitments and warned that Russia, which is investing heavily in military equipment, will not return to a state of peace quickly. Macron stressed that Europeans must not be naive in the face of this threat. He also expressed skepticism about US leader Donald Trump's optimism about peace talks.
