In a post on X, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, announced that he had a discussion with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in which they first addressed the situation in the Middle East. Macron emphasized the importance of respecting the ceasefire and its application in Lebanon, as well as the necessity of ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.


He also highlighted the need for a solid and lasting diplomatic solution in the region. Continuing the discussion, Macron also addressed the war in Ukraine, emphasizing the collaboration between France and Turkey within the Coalition of Will. The French president reiterated the commitment to seek a just and lasting peace that aligns with the principles of the United Nations Charter and is supported by strong security guarantees for Ukraine.
