The French Ministry of Agriculture has reported 21 cases of listeriosis, two of them fatal, linked to the consumption of soft cheeses. Authorities are warning vulnerable groups, such as pregnant women and people with low immunity, to be on the lookout for symptoms of the disease. Listeria, the bacteria responsible, grows in food and can cause severe complications. It is recommended to avoid ready-cooked foods and follow food hygiene to prevent infection.
