Following the summit between the US and Russian presidents, which failed to result in an agreement on the war in Ukraine, Sergei Lavrov held telephone conversations with his Turkish and Hungarian counterparts. Turkey, which acted as mediator, initiated the talks with Lavrov, while Hungary has maintained close relations with Russia, opposing EU sanctions. Lavrov expressed his views on the outcome of the meeting, with the Hungarian prime minister saying the world is now safer.
