American Vice President JD Vance has announced the release of a new memoir titled "Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith," which will be published on June 16 by HarperCollins. The book explores his spiritual journey and conversion to Catholicism, which took place in 2019, after being raised in an evangelical family. Vance stated that the work reflects the loss and rediscovery of his faith, influencing his views on politics and the future. This comes in a context where Vance is considered a favorite for the 2028 presidential nomination, and publishing memoirs before a candidacy is a common practice in American politics. The emphasis on faith underscores the importance of religion in his political identity, impacting his positions on abortion and immigration policy. The book follows his previous success, "Hillbilly Elegy," which became a bestseller and was adapted into a film.
