Shigeru Ishiba stressed that Japan will carefully analyze the international talks and decide how to contribute to Ukraine's security in the context of peace efforts with Russia. While he welcomed the initiatives of Western leaders, he expressed reservations about the speed of reaching an agreement with Putin. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte noted that 30 countries, including Japan, are working on a concept of security guarantees for Ukraine, inspired by the principle of collective defense in NATO's Article 5.
