Israeli attacks in Gaza have resulted in the death of five people, including as a result of airstrikes in Khan Younis and Tuffah.

On Thursday, Israeli attacks resulted in the deaths of five people in Gaza, according to health officials. An airstrike in the Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City killed two people and injured several others. Subsequently, Israeli drones attacked two police checkpoints in Khan Younis and in the Abu Hujair area, causing further deaths and serious injuries.

The Israelis stated that they eliminated a militant who posed a threat to their forces in the south of the enclave. This incident was considered a violation of the ceasefire mediated by the U.S., which began in October 2023, following a Hamas attack on Israel that resulted in 1,200 deaths. Since then, the Gaza health ministry has reported over 72,000 deaths, mostly civilians, due to Israeli fire. Additionally, at least 600 people have been killed since the ceasefire was established, while Israel has lost four soldiers in the same period. In January, the agreement entered a second phase, in which Israel was to withdraw troops from Gaza, and Hamas was to hand over control of the territorial administration.
