During the 12-day war with Israel, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was wounded in an Israeli air strike on a government compound. The attack took place on June 16, three days after the conflict began, and knocked out electricity. Although the meeting participants managed to take shelter, Pezeshkian suffered injuries to his legs. In a recent interview, he mentioned an assassination attempt and suggested possible infiltration. The war has led to reciprocal attacks between the two countries, and concerns in Iran about further attacks remain high.
