For more than two months, Iran has been facing a national internet shutdown, which began after airstrikes in February.

"If even one person manages to access the internet, I consider it a success and it deserves the effort," said Sahand, a member of the network, to BBC.

Starlink devices allow users to bypass the state-controlled internal network, which is limited and censored. Although the use of these terminals is prohibited and punishable by imprisonment, estimates suggest that there are at least 50,000 terminals in Iran.

Sahand has managed to illegally introduce a dozen terminals into the country and continues to seek ways to expand the network. Despite the risks, he and other members of the network believe it is essential to help provide accurate information about the situation in Iran, in the context of an economic crisis and severe government repression.
