Iran's Ministry of Information agents have expressed their willingness to hold discussions with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States to end the conflict, according to sources cited by The New York Times.
The offer was conveyed through the espionage agency of an anonymous country, and officials from the Middle East and a Western country have confirmed the information on the condition of anonymity.
However, officials in Washington are skeptical about the sincerity of Iran and the Trump administration regarding a potential 'exit' from the conflict, at least in the short term.
Additionally, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations recently ruled out the possibility of negotiations with the United States in the context of the joint attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran.
