The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, arrived in St. Petersburg for discussions with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and President Vladimir Putin, regarding the conflict in the Middle East.
Araghchi emphasized that, although there were signs of progress in the negotiations, the American approach hindered the achievement of objectives, accusing Washington of excessive demands.
Before the meeting in Moscow, Araghchi urgently traveled to Islamabad for negotiations with the American side, and the situation became complicated after President Trump canceled plans to send his special envoy and son-in-law to the negotiations.
Although the ceasefire in April reduced the intensity of the conflict, it did not lead to a lasting solution, and Iran is seeking Russia's support in this context.
Araghchi highlighted the close relationship between Tehran and Moscow, emphasizing ongoing consultations on various issues.
