The Iranian judicial system announced the execution of Erfan Kiani, a man sentenced for collaborating with Mossad during the protests in January in Isfahan province. Kiani was hanged after a procedure approved by the Supreme Court, being accused of destruction of property, arson, using Molotov cocktails, and assaulting police officers. This execution is part of a wave of capital punishments, with the total number of people executed in Iran since March reaching nine, in the context of protests triggered by an American-Israeli attack. Iranian authorities claim that the protests were supported by foreign entities, while international organizations, such as Amnesty International, warn about the frequency of executions in Iran, which is considered one of the countries with the highest number of death sentences.
