French prosecutors are investigating a group of conspirators who allegedly paid officials to sabotage Interpol Red Notices. Vitalie Pirlog, arrested in the United Arab Emirates, is charged with organized fraud and evading arrest on suspicion of helping suspects obtain asylum in Moldova to suspend the notices. Interpol has reported attempts to block these alerts, and French authorities opened a 2025 investigation into corruption within the agency.
