ING has submitted a document to the Dutch agency for labor force occupation, a necessary step before any restructuring, having nearly 15,000 employees in the Netherlands. Although the document does not officially announce layoffs, the bank will analyze each division to adapt to the new opportunities offered by artificial intelligence and the needs of customers. Unions have been informed about the plans for digitization and streamlining procedures, but they emphasized that it is too early to assess the impact. A previous forecast indicated the elimination of 850 jobs, but in the end, only 250 were laid off. ING also carried out a limited global restructuring, affecting 230 jobs in the corporate client division. ING Group provides financial services in over 40 countries, including Romania, where it has 1.9 million customers.
