Tuesday's eruption of the Lewotobi Laki-laki volcano on the island of Flores generated a 10,000-meter ash plume. The Center for Volcanology warned residents and tourists to keep away from the crater, with exclusion zones set up on different radii. Although no casualties have been reported, previous eruptions have resulted in loss of life. Indonesia, part of the Ring of Fire, is known for its intense volcanic activity.
