The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ambitious national program aimed at training 10 million young people in the field of artificial intelligence over the next 12 months, with the goal of transforming India into a global hub for emerging technologies.

This initiative was presented in his speech at the Red Fort in New Delhi, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Independence Day. Modi emphasized the importance of developing domestic capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and robotics, to reduce dependence on technology imports. The program is part of the government's economic plan to develop India into a fully developed country by 2047.

Modi also mentioned the need to expand digital infrastructure and domestic production of strategic components. In the context of the technological transition, India aims to achieve a nuclear power production capacity of 100 gigawatts by 2047, alongside the development of solar energy. This strategy aligns with the 'self-reliant India' policy, aimed at reducing dependence on foreign technology.
