The Indian army has reported exchanges of fire with Pakistani troops in Kashmir, continuing an escalation of tensions that began after a deadly attack that killed 26 people. India accused Pakistan of involvement, while Islamabad denied the allegations and called for a neutral inquiry. Both countries have also closed their borders and analysts warn of the risks of further military action.
