The island of Thassos is experiencing vegetation fires caused by lightning strikes, but no casualties have been reported.

Vegetation fires broke out on the island of Thassos, Greece, after a thunderstorm, affecting four areas. Firefighters intervened with 18 fire engines and 50 rescuers from the mainland, also using air support to limit the spread of the blaze. The largest outbreak was in the Skala Prinos area, close to the beach, leading to the evacuation of nearby hotels. Fortunately there were no casualties or major damage.
