On Tuesday, several fires broke out in tourist areas in Greece, including on the Peloponnese and Halkidiki peninsulas, as well as on the islands of Lesbos and Samos. The Civil Protection Ministry has issued a high level of alert due to conditions favorable to the spread of fires, such as strong winds and drought. Homes on the island of Zakynthos are under threat and the authorities are advising caution to prevent the flames from spreading.
