The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced on Tuesday that the underground uranium enrichment facility at Natanz, Iran, has suffered damage following recent attacks by the United States and Israel. The IAEA confirmed, based on satellite images, that the entrance buildings of the facility were affected, but no radiological consequences were detected and the facility did not suffer additional damage compared to that in June.

The Iranian ambassador to the IAEA, Ali Reza Najafi, accused the attacks of being illegal and brutal, emphasizing that Iranian nuclear facilities are peaceful and secure. IAEA Director Rafael Grossi acknowledged that the agency has not had access to recent information from the Iranian nuclear regulatory authority. This situation highlights the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, as well as Israel, in the context of the Iranian nuclear program.
