The Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, will visit Belgrade to discuss the assistance Hungary will provide to Serbia, following the halt of oil deliveries from Croatia to the NIS refinery, controlled by Russia.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, warned that the refinery will close in four days if the U.S. does not lift the sanctions imposed on Russian companies, which would affect Serbia's fuel supply. Szijjarto announced that the Hungarian oil group MOL will increase deliveries to Serbia, and a pipeline for oil between Hungary and Serbia is planned to meet Serbia's needs by 2028. Additionally, Serbia is preparing a legislative amendment to take control of the NIS refinery, which is essential for the country's fuel supply.
