Péter Szijjártó, the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that MOL will continue to purchase oil from Lukoil, having a waiver from the USA regarding sanctions. He emphasized that Russia is considered a reliable partner for Hungary's energy supply, mentioning that alternatives are less reliable and more expensive. Szijjártó confirmed that MOL is in negotiations to acquire Lukoil International, but he avoided commenting on its involvement.
Regarding the peace plan for Ukraine, he reiterated Hungary's support for a ceasefire and negotiations, warning that the lack of an agreement will lead to a deterioration of the situation. Szijjártó emphasized the importance of the success of negotiations for MOL and urged European leaders to support peace efforts.
