The Hungarian government, led by Viktor Orban, contests the decision of the EU Council to use the interest from frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine, claiming that its veto was not respected. Hungary is requesting the annulment of this decision through a complaint filed with the CJEU, arguing that it was unjustly excluded from the vote. Additionally, the frozen Russian assets, valued at approximately 200 billion euros, are managed by the EU, and their use for Ukraine is considered by Russia an act of "theft."
