Hungary's recently adopted anti-drugs law aims to crack down on drug trafficking. Assets used in illegal activities can be confiscated, even if they belong to other people, and repeat offenders will not be eligible for parole. Drug users can escape punishment only by cooperating with the authorities. The new law transforms the distribution of psychoactive substances from a misdemeanor into a felony, strengthening the fight against traffickers.
