Nicușor Dan, after the failure of the negotiations on the Salary Law: The parties assume the loss of the 770 million euros related to the milestone from the PNRR.

President Nicușor Dan stated that the negotiations between PSD, PNL, USR, and UDMR regarding the salary law have not been successful, despite the intense discussions in recent months.

The parties have assumed a loss of 770 million euros from the PNRR and have agreed to adopt the law by the end of the year, respecting the salary envelope established with the European Commission.

Nicușor Dan emphasized that the delay in the salary reform, which has been postponed since 2022, has created pressure on the process of drafting the law. Although the law is almost technically finalized, the president warned that the salary envelope will not be able to meet all the demands of the unions.

The political decision regarding the distribution of the salary envelope among the different categories of employees in the public sector remains crucial.
