François Hollande, former president of France, stated that the European Union must learn to live "alone" and no longer rely on the United States, even after Donald Trump's departure. At a conference in Liffré, Hollande emphasized that a Western world without the USA is a reality that must be accepted, warning that, regardless of who will be president in the USA, relations will no longer be as close.

He advocated for a more effective European Defense, suggesting a structure with "two speeds" that would allow closer collaboration among certain member states, especially in the fields of digital industry and defense. Hollande mentioned the importance of unity within the European Union and highlighted the need to act quickly, considering the current international context, including the war in Ukraine.
