The leader of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, accused the existence of an Israeli-American plan to create a 'Greater Israel', which would include territories from Lebanon. Qassem stated that the group has no other option but to oppose these intentions, warning that surrendering would mean giving up dignity and sovereignty.
These statements come in the context of a new Israeli ground operation in southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah is trying to stop the advance of Israeli forces. Qassem emphasized that a confrontation with the Israeli army is a national responsibility for all communities in Lebanon. In contrast, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun proposed negotiations with Israel, an option that Hezbollah considers unacceptable. Qassem also rejected the initiative to disarm the organization, arguing that it would facilitate the realization of the 'Greater Israel' dream.
